Center/Clark COVID-19 Response II

Published: March 24, 2020

Dear Center/Clark Subscribers and Supporters,

We hope you and your families are all staying healthy and safe during this challenging moment. Our greatest priority continues to be the health and well-being of our community and staff, and I’d like to provide another update on additional steps we have taken since last week.

We continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation daily and follow the guidelines set by UCLA, our local and federal government officials, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

On Monday, March 16, we were notified that UCLA is suspending all nonessential events of any size through the end of spring quarter. Thus, we have cancelled all lectures, special events and performances through mid-June. We are in the process of submitting refunds to concert ticketholders. Our conference, “Oscar Wilde, Sexuality, and the State”, scheduled for May 15-16, has also been cancelled. We are currently exploring the possibility of hosting our two remaining conferences online and will send out details, once confirmed, to those subscribers interested in these programs. Our Events website is being updated with the most current information. We are also working with our artists to reschedule the Chamber Music at the Clark concerts, possibly for summer dates, depending on the COVID-19 situation and its impact on our local community.

For important updates about COVID-19 and its impact at UCLA, please visit ucla.in/coronavirus.

Clark Library
Beginning Tuesday, March 17, the Clark Library and grounds were closed to the public. Our library staff will continue to be available via email. Please feel free to contact us at clark@humnet.ucla.edu, or visit the directory at https://clarklibrary.ucla.edu/clark-directory if you need assistance from specific staff members.

Center for 17th- & 18th-Century Studies
The Center staff are now working remotely from home. Although we continue to check our voicemails, please contact us by email at c1718cs@humnet.ucla.edu if you have any questions.

Please check the Clark Library website and the Center’s events webpage for updates, or contact us at clarklib@humnet.ucla.edu / 310-794-5155 (Clark) or c1718cs@humnet.ucla.edu / 310-206-8552 (Center) if you have any questions.

Thank you again for your support of Center/Clark activities, and be well!

All best wishes,
