Arts on the Grounds
Arts on the Grounds creates intersections of literature and the performing arts at UCLA’s William Andrews Clark Memorial Library, generating site-specific productions designed for the Library’s five acres of beautiful gardens and indoor and outdoor rooms. Events have included modern interpretations of classical theater, productions based on works held in the Clark’s collections, and opera performances of works from the 15th through 19th centuries. The program engages a broad range of audiences and brings the Library’s rich collections to life through performance. For a list of past performances, visit http://www.1718.ucla.edu/about/arts/
The Clark Library funds programs with support from individual donors, independent foundations, and government agencies. Programming has been made possible with support from Catherine Glynn Benkaim and Barbara Timmer, Mark Rabinowitz, the Friends of the Clark Library, University of California Humanities Research Institute, UCLA’s Office of the Dean of Humanities, and the UCLA Department of Spanish and Portuguese.
